Covid-19 Response Program with Goonj

After being released from the Quarantine center, the tribal migrant workers of Odisha were in search of work to earn their livelihoods. In the meantime, with the support of a National Level NGO GOONJ in association with its local partner Mahashakti Foundation they could earn themselves Essential Household Kit for a week.

For the last three days, 42 tribal Migrant Workers of Kuji, Hata Muniguda and Dakulguda GP under Bissam Cuttack Block of Rayagada dist. cleaned the premises of three schools, an Anganwadi center and digged 30 pits for plantation and collected the household essential kits with dignity.

On this instance, Team members of Partner NGO made them aware of the current schemes announced by the government and also advised to start some income generating activities as per their skill and capacity both in farm and non farm sector. Team members have also assured them to support in the value chain system of all income generating activities during the start-up stage. A Skill database of Migrant Workers has been created to employ them within the state as per their choice.

This event was presided by Organisation’s Managing Director Shri Jugal Kishore Pattnayak. Staffs of Mahashakti Foundation: Mr. Maheswar Brahmachari, Mr. Hrusikesh Sahu, Mr. Bijay Kumar Nayak, Mr. Tapan Nayak, Mr. Sanatan Rout supported for the event to be a success.
